The grip tape on your deck installation may look difficult but as more things in life, practice makes perfect! Follow the steps outlined below and you're good to go . . Remove the plastic off the skateboard deck tape and place it on a clean surface. Take about 5 inches from the paper away from your grip tape. Paste it on the nose of your deck. Remember to leave an overhang of about 1 or 1 ½ inches. Work from the nose of your deck to the back of the deck where you grip tape from the middle down firmly on the deck. Take as much time for it! The more carefully you do this the less bubbles you get under the grip tape. Small bubbles will work it out while skating. Large bubbles can be found in the middle here and around piercing press firmly. Use a file to skateboard deck tape around the grip, along the edge filing. Keep the file at an angle of about 45 degrees. The outer edge of the skateboard deck tape will be visible in this way. File NOT covered by the skateboard deck tape of your grip skateboard deck tape file but only the top layer of your grip. This way you stick grip skateboard deck tape around the edges well and have a nice line to be cut down. Grab a knife and keep it at an angle of 45 degrees with the bottom of your deck. Cut your grip tape along the edge of your deck. You can now hold the line you just created to the filing. Be careful not to cut so deep you cut your deck. Here you have to have some patience, this takes some practice.
